About Me
Hey there. I’m Amanda Killian (they/them, but we keep it casual over here), a writer, designer, and photographer from Upstate New York. I’m currently a senior brand designer at Planful Inc, where I do everything from direct videos to brand in-person events. This website is mostly for all the other things I do besides graphic design.
My other work includes curation, research, and event planning with the Buffalo-Niagara LGBTQ+ History Project, art direction and moderation on SWARM: Answering the Call (a My Chemical Romance charity fanzine), and photography & brand design for a diverse range of clients. I really just like to do whatever I can to stay in touch with my creative side and give back to my community. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA with my wife Isa, a small dog named Fievel, and a huge cat named Audrey. I’m inspired by this colorful bunch every day, as well as by artists, writers, and musicians who play with language as art and art as language.
When not working on zines or thinking about art, I enjoy overthinking live music, sniffing perfumes, sitting outdoors in contemplation, lesbian dive bars, and forgetting to drink the cup of coffee I just made.
