I haven’t been shooting music for very long, but in the brief time I have, I’ve gotten to experience a surprising number of milestone moments–first shows, last shows, memorial shows. Energy in the room that isn’t really mine but which I get to feel anyways.

Atlanta-based emo band Juna’s final show at 529 was a great example: I’ve had the privilege of working with a few of the band’s members on other photo projects, and gave the album a listen before heading out that night, but it was still undeniably special to see the goodbye happen in real time, to notice the chemistry between the artists and the audience and watch as the final notes came crashing down over us all.
